Rights Respecting

This page is awaiting content

Here at Ravenstone the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child is at our heart. We ensure children’s rights are learned, taught, practised, respected, protected and promoted. With children, staff and families working together, Ravenstone fosters a respectful and safe environment for all.

At all ages, pupils learn about their inherent and inalienable rights that they are given at birth. They learn that all children, regardless of race, gender, religion or location have these universal rights. Pupils at Chesterton explore the ways in which children enjoy their rights around the world, as well as those who do not. You can read more about the UNCRC and what rights mean here.

At Ravenstone we learn about our rights, but we also learn 'through’ our rights. To support us in this, we are part of the ‘WE movement’. WE is all about active participation and providing pupils with the tools to change the world. Our pupils are stepping up and making a difference in their local community and world at large. Through our work with ‘WE’, Ravenstone pupils know that no matter your age or where you live, we can all make a positive impact – whether that’s volunteering, fundraising or raising awareness for causes that matter. Our pupils strive to achieve their best for themselves and for others.
