THE SCHOOL DAY
There are two entrances to the school: the main one on Ravenstone Street and one on Elmfield Road. Both entrances are open at the beginning and end of the school day. During the day they are locked. If you need to come into school during the day, you must use the Ravenstone Street entrance, which has a buzzer connected to the School Office.
MORNING
We operate a ‘soft start’ where children will be welcomed into the classroom from 8:30 am (Reception to Year 6) and 8:45 am (Nursery).
Children should arrive no earlier than 8:30am and must not be in the playground unattended at any time.
Children in Nursery and Reception can enter into their classrooms from the playground on the Elmfield Street side of the school.
The entrance to the Year 1, 3 and 4 classes is from the playground and through the open door opposite the Wild Place.
The entrance to the Year 2, 5 and 6 classes is from the playground and through the open door next to the school reception entrance.
PUNCTUALITY
Punctuality is very important, and we are committed to the ‘Attendance Matters - Every Day Counts’ philosophy. All children need to be settled and ready to start learning on time at the beginning of the day. Following Soft Start, carpet sessions and lessons begin at the following times:
Nursery: 9:00 am (or 12:00 pm)
Reception: 8:40 am
Year 1 to Year 6 (including the Hive): 8:45 am
If a child arrives after these times, they will be considered late and must enter through the School Office to be registered and the number of minutes late recorded.

AFTERNOON
The school gates are open from 3:00 pm. When you collect your child, you should wait in the playground near the dismissal point:
Year N (12:00 pm or 15:00 pm) and Year R (15:10 pm): classroom door
Year 1 (15:15 pm): adjacent to the Wild Place
Year 2, 5 and 6 (15:15 pm): below the clock next to the school reception entrance
Year 3 and 4 (15:15 pm): adjacent to the music studio
Hive (15:00 pm): outdoor classroom or below the clock next to the school reception entrance
When school staff see you, they will release your child to you.
It is important that your child is collected on time. Please telephone the school if you are going to be late. If your child is going to be collected by someone unknown to us, you must let us know in advance.
If you have siblings to collect, please collect your youngest child first.
