Ravenstone Primary School

Weekly Review

We have had an amazing final week of the spring term, filled with learning, celebrations, and fun! We explored the meaning of Eid and how it is celebrated, and it was wonderful to hear our classmates share their own experiences. On Wednesday, we had a fantastic Easter egg hunt and were so grateful to Friends of Ravenstone for organizing such a fun event. In history, we wrapped up our topic on explorers with an exciting debate to decide who the greatest explorer of all time is. It’s been a fantastic way to end the term, and we can’t wait for more adventures next term!

English

In Writing this week we continued to focus on Flo-Jo. We put together all the facts we have learned to finish our autobiographies. We also reflected on how inspiring Flo-Jo was and how she has taught us that no matter what, we should keep trying.

Maths

In Maths this week, we have continued looking at teen numbers. We have learned how helpful our ‘10 and a bit’ knowledge can be in helping us solve equations. We also learned that we only need to know the one’s digit to know if a number is odd or even. Now we know all of our odds and evens!

Phonics

This week's new sounds are: ch, /c/ school /sh/ chef and ze, /z/, freeze. Our tricky words this week are: laugh, because, eye, our, once, thought.
