Pupil Premium and free school meals
The Pupil Premium Grant provides funding to improve educational outcomes for disadvantaged pupils in state-funded schools in England. Pupil premium funding is allocated to eligible schools based on the number of pupils who are recorded as eligible for free school meals, or have been recorded as eligible in the past 6 years (referred to as Ever 6 FSM) and children previously looked after by a local authority or other state care, including children adopted from state care or equivalent from outside England and Wales. Our Pupil Premium Strategy can be reviewed below:FREE SCHOOL MEALS
Primary school children in state-funded schools in London will continue to get free school meals for the next four years. The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has extended the funding to help build a better and fairer London for everyone. The Mayor recognises that families are in urgent need of support. The meals will help families with the spiralling cost of living by making sure that children in state-funded London schools will receive free school meals.
If your child is eligible for free school meals, they’ll also qualify for the Holiday Activity and Food Programme. Food vouchers may also be available through the Household Support Fund.
Your child may be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following:
- income Support
- income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
- Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
- Universal Credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)
