Ravenstone Primary School

send offer

At Ravenstone, we ensure that every pupil is included, feels valued and has the opportunity to enjoy learning. We promote positive attitudes to learning and provide every pupil with opportunities to progress and fulfil their potential, including those with additional needs, in an emotionally supportive, respectful and inclusive environment. We are ambitious for all pupils and believe that every child should have access to a broad, balanced, relevant curriculum.

It is recognised that this will be achieved by inclusive practice involving collaboration and input from schools, families, LA support services, other agencies and the broader community. To support staff in achieving this for our children, we have clear procedures and policies in place as outlined in our SEN Information Report and Inclusion Policy, both of which can be found below alongside Wandsworth's Local Offer for young people with SEND:

We have a three layers of provision for children with SEND and other additional needs who may require support so that they can access our school and our curriculum.

  1. Our first approach is to ensure that the quality of teaching in the classroom is exceptional;
  2. We may then use additional targeted interventions to support children;
  3. Lastly we allocate specialist provision, using outside professionals or services.

We work within the Wandsworth guidance on provision for children with SEND in mainstream schools which explains the ways children with different additional needs are provided for within the school. All of our staff use the 'Ordinarily Available Provision' guidance to ensure inclusive provision for all pupils.

Our Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) is Karis Stanislaus, who can be contacted at assistanthead@ravenstoneprimary.org.uk

If families have any questions about SEND, the first point of contact should always be the class teacher, who knows your child best.
