Year 5 Weekly Review

Spring 2 Week 2: 3rd - 7th March 2025

Weekly Review

Week 2 is over and it has been such a fun week in Year 5! We have been investigating The Alps in Geography and exploring how the fold mountains were formed. On Friday we celebrated World Book day where we came into school dressed as our most cherished characters. We spent the day reading, discussing what the children and teachers were reading, as well as designing our own book tokens for the National Book Token competition.

English:

In English this week, we began our shared and modelled writing by writing a letter home to David’s mum about how things are going. This will help prepare us ahead of next week when we will write our own independent letters home.

Maths:

This week in maths we have finished our unit of multiplying three factors to calculate the volume of cuboids. We started our next Maths unit focused on factors, multiples, primes and composites (any whole number that has more than two factors).

PATHs:

This week in PATHs, we had our PATHs mentor Chris visit. During this lesson we focused on making and keeping new friends by looking at real world examples as well.
