Year 5 Weekly Review
Summer 2 Week 2: 23rd - 27th June 2025
Weekly Review
Week 4 has come and gone and it was assessment week this week. The children have been hard at work being assessed for the last time in this academic year and we are really proud of their efforts! The children in Year 5 have had the pleasure of being part of a visitation by individuals who travelled through the Windrush era and we got to interview them; we even learnt and performed a song for them (scan the QR code for the song). In Year 5 we also taught the key scientific content in RSE on the changes we observe and experience, as humans enter puberty and grow up.
English:
In English this week, we began planning our non-chronological reports and wrote them based on our own magical and mythical creatures that we designed. We had to come up with our own facts and the children really got into it! The enthusiasm was at its peak for this writing and we are so pleased with the outcome. The next piece of writing in English will be based around poetry!
Maths:
This week in Maths, we’ve been completing our final set of assessments. Next week, we will be using protractors to measure and draw angles, and find angles in different polygons.
PATHs:
In PSHE this week we have been focusing on Safety and the Changing Body.
