Welcome Stephen Wiltshire Class! Sometimes we are also known as HC or the Lower Hive.
Class HC – Mrs Cunningham: jcunningham@ravenstoneprimary.org.uk
Please don't hesitate to email me or speak to any of the team at drop off or collection.
Our approach throughout the year is to create a bridge between the specialist provision we provide in the Hive setting alongside successful inclusion within our mainstream classes. Emotional regulation, social communication and access to cognition and learning underpin everything we do. Krupa Raja is our specialist Speech and Language Therapist and Aaliyah Osman-Adams is our specialist Occupational Therapist.
Stephen Wiltshire Class is a specialist ASD provision supporting pupils across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Our class is designed to meet the individual needs of children with autism through a highly structured, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
Learning is carefully adapted to each child and focuses on communication, emotional regulation, independence, and engagement. Teaching is supported through clear routines, visual supports, and practical, hands-on experiences to help pupils feel confident and secure in their learning.
Alongside academic learning, we place strong emphasis on personal development. Pupils are supported to develop language and communication skills, build positive relationships, and grow in confidence. Where appropriate, children are supported to access mainstream lessons and shared school activities, promoting inclusion and a strong sense of belonging within the wider school community.
Please see out timetable below:

PE Kits:
We run tailored and individual Sensory Circuits designed by Aaliyah for every child to develop specific physical skills on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. PE kits are encouraged but not essential on these days. We go swimming on Thursdays every alternate half term and children will need a full swimming kit and towel to change into on this day. This year Stephen Wiltshire class will be swimming in Autumn 2, Spring 2 and Summer 2.
Water Bottles:
Please make sure you child brings in a clearly labelled water bottled each day that has already been filled with water.
Spare Clothes:
Please bring in a set of spare clothes to keep in your child’s locker in the Hive in case we need to change your child. Thank you.
Home Learning:
Home Learning Books will be sent home on Friday and need to be returned on Tuesdays.
Reading:
You child will bring home their Reading Practice Book on Friday and it is essential that this book is returned the following Monday. If the book is not returned you will receive one reminder before being issued a charge for the book. This book is accompanied with a Reading Record. Please complete one entry in this for the period that you have the book at home. This book is 100% decodable and will have already been read three times by your child in their Reading Practice Sessions at school.
You child will also bring home a 'Sharing Book' from the book box and will have the opportunity to change this book on Tuesdays and Fridays if it is in your child’s school bag. This is a book to simply share and enjoy. These texts are not decodable but meant as another opportunity for reading for pleasure.
Rights Respecting School

We are a Rights Respecting School and we believe every child, young person and the school community should learn about children's rights, putting them into practise every day. We hope that this will have a positive impact on children's lives by making:
- Children healthier and happier
- Children feel safe
Children have better relationships
-Children become active and involved in school life and the wider world
