Vision and values
Everything we do as a school is to achieve our vision of
children fulfilling their potential in the heart of the community
and ensure our values understood and lived by our pupils, staff and families.
In our search for better, we always question how we can do it differently. |

Cally Creative is always raring to unleash her imagination on a new challenge. Her silky tail is a curious shape - it’s like a question-mark - and she uses it to creatively solve problems. She dips it in sparkling paint and sets to work exploring ideas. Creativity is a golden thread running throughout Ravenstone. Our commitment to the arts, sports and the humanities allow for our children to think as individuals and with free thought. Our curriculum facilitates this value perfectly and our children are curious and imaginative because of it. We want our children to think for themselves and apply their thoughts and learning in different ways. Read Cally's story here. |
Facing challenges with confidence, we continuously strive to be the best we can be. |

Dorothy Determined never gives up. This young comet is aiming high and reaching for the stars. Nothing will stop her from getting there. Our children have the determination to succeed. Our challenging and rewarding curriculum inspires everyone to be the best they can be. We want our children to take risks and learn from failure while having the confidence in themselves to take on new adventures. This applies to all children and staff. Read Dorothy's story here. |
Sunny with a positive outlook, we act with energy and a can-do attitude. |

You can’t help but smile when you look at Hannah Happy. Her beautiful, bright colours spread joy wherever she goes. Things aren’t always sunny for Hannah but that is what makes her special. Even when it is stormy she stays optimistic and sees happiness as she dances in the rain. Every child deserves to be happy and it is our aim to ensure that every child, parent and teacher who comes to Ravenstone enjoys what they do and is inspired to become the best they can be. We know that we cannot achieve our vision of pupils fulfilling their potential if they are not happy. Read Hannah's story here. |
Open to new ideas, we reflect on our actions and words to help us improve. |

What a dependable value Hugo Honest is. Reliable and trustworthy, his incredibly sensitive nose helps him to sniff out what is right from what is wrong. The value of honesty involves children learning how to interact together, both individually and as a school. Our children learn what is right and wrong, how to take responsibility for their actions and to learn from their mistakes. All teachers are honest with their strengths and their professionalism and honesty allows them to strive to improve. We are honest with ourselves and our children grow to become honest people. Kedrick Kind is a mighty value. He has the ability to fill hearts, solve problems and make our community warm and loving. Children, staff and parents at Ravenstone show kindness to each other at all times. The school focuses heavily on this value through every day interactions, the curriculum and wider opportunities to develop empathy for others. From our Fundraising and Community Projects to our active PTA (the Friends of Ravenstone) who put on copious after school events, kindness is at the heart of what we do for each other. Rahimah Respect understands the role she has to play supporting people’s choices and caring for others. Her iridescent orb is a beacon for respect, helping Rahimah to challenge meanness and inequality. Respect is the foundation of how we treat each other and the world around us. At Ravenstone, we teach our children to value differences, listen with empathy, and show care in their words and actions. Whether it’s holding the door for a friend, speaking thoughtfully in a discussion, or caring for our environment, respect is modelled by everyone - children, staff and families alike.
